A pre-queue is a website that is active before a ticket sale with a virtual waiting room is in place. Pre-queues manage a build-up of ticket buyers before the ticket sale. The pre-queue page shows a countdown timer until the start of the ticket sale, at which point the virtual waiting room activates.
When the ticket sale starts, everybody in the pre-queue is randomly assigned a place in the waiting room. Ticket buyers arriving after the ticket sale start get a first-come, first-served place in line.
